As
the old belief goes, other professions would not be existent without teachers. Ever since I was 7 years old, I wanted nothing
more than to be a teacher—be like the mentors whom I idolize. It was Ms. Anna Marsha B. Furagganan who initially inspired
me to become a teacher. She was my first-grade teacher in Filipino, Math and Religion, and three years later in fourth grade
became my adviser. My desire to become an educator only grew as the years passed, when I was influenced by other mentors like
Ms. Jaezamie A. Viray and Mrs. Regina C. Panlilio.
When
I entered the Education High School, professors like Assoc. Prof. Camilla J. Vizconde and Asst. Prof. Ma. Fylene P. Uy also fueled my fire. Young bloods like Mr. Alvin Ringgo C. Reyes, Mr. Emerson R. Servo and
my Confirmation godfather Mr. Reyneth Renan Matta showed me the kind of enjoyment that they get out of the profession—which
many say is actually a vocation.
Now,
I’m in the College of Education, and I’m living my dream. And no one’s stopping me from being like the people below: a molder of
mankind.
